Smithy Park at Abermule, Powys, offers an idyllic setting for a memorable stay with its All Service touring pitches nestled along the tranquil River Mule and River Severn, safely fenced for peace of mind. Each concrete pitch is fully equipped with a 13 – 16 amp electrical hook-up, a TV lead with free-view channels, drinking water, and grey waste disposal. Essential amenities such as toilet and laundry facilities are readily available.

The Park’s 5-acre grounds are meticulously maintained, creating a garden-like atmosphere with mature trees and shrubs leading down to the River Severn. Here, guests can enjoy free fishing within the Park’s confines. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck with Trout and Salmon in fast waters or catch Grayling, Chubb, and other coarse fish.

Explore

Alwyn and Olive share a deep passion for the countryside, cherishing its rich habitat. The riverbank, adorned with lush grasses and vibrant wildflowers, is a haven for wildlife—from buzzing bees and fluttering butterflies to the delicate dance of craneflies. The Kingfisher, proudly featured in the Smithy Logo, symbolise this natural beauty. If you sit by the river, you might be lucky enough to spot one of these stunning birds or catch a glimpse of their brilliant blue flash along the water’s edge.

The varied countryside is beautiful and fun to explore. Why not get a different angle of the river and pop a Kayak in at Kingfisher View and see the river from the river! Fishing is free on the park. There is also fishing available on the Montgomeryshire Canal. Fast water fishing includes Trout and Salmon and there are Grayling, Chubb and other coarse fish.

The diverse countryside offers a fantastic playground for cyclists and a true paradise for walkers. The Park provides excellent access to the Montgomeryshire Canal towpath, a perfect route for walking, cycling, and a haven for dog owners looking to explore nature at a leisurely pace.

From our convenient location, you can easily visit the surrounding market towns of Llanidloes, Welshpool and Montgomery, and the historic towns of Machynlleth and Ludlow, with plenty of attractions, castles, reservoirs and beautiful views on the way!

The Welsh coast is an hour’s drive away, so you can enjoy Aberystwyth, Aberdovey or Borth, with stunning scenery en route. With convenient access to the North and Midlands, Smithy Park is handy for you to get away from it all.
